The First Historical Novel

Europe is famous for his novel. This is evident from the first novel written history by Sir Walter Scott in the year 1810 entitled Waverley.

History often feels fake. Departure of the opinion, Sir Walter Scott taking the character of Sir Walter Ranaldson Alasdair Macdonell (1771-1828), a soldier who almost never recorded in the long history of Scotland.

Since then people write the characters real, the place really existed in the novel. Include Victor Hugo, Alexander Dumas, and Charles Dickens is the author reconstructs the European reality into fiction.

Unfortunately, historical novel has not formulated yet in a single definition. Historical Novel community in the United States did not provide specific limits after the debate among literary scholars and history there. Not only the extent of tension sticking fiction into fact and vice versa, but also debate how much of a real event get imaginative plot.
